Alaina Bongers

Master Teacher Alaina Bongers is well-respected as a perfomer, teacher and arranger and  is one of the region's premiere concert harpists. Alaina joined the faculty of Magnolia Music Studio in 2009. Alaina She received a Master of Music degree in Harp Performance from Colorado State University with Rachel Starr Ellins, where she previously earned her Bachelor of Music and a Certificate of Liturgical Studies. Alaina has played for Fort Collins Wind Symphony, Longmont Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra, Niwot Symphony, Loveland-Larimer-Alpine Chorales, Schola Cantorum, CSU orchestras and ensembles, and community theater productions. Alaina is in demand as a classical and Celtic harpist for weddings and events, including Opera Fort Collins annual gala. She taught harp for Rocky Mountain Summer Music Camp at CSU, and summer harp camps at Magnolia Studio. In 2013  Alaina co-founded The Northern Colorado Summer Harp Festival with CSU harp professor Rachel Starr Ellins—a collaboration with Magnolia Music Studio, Loveland Harp Shoppe, and CSU.  Alaina continues as Artistic Director of the 2014 Summer Harp Festival. Alaina has written and arranged several concert and study pieces for harp that in the process of being published. Alaina teaches at Magnolia Music Studio-Old Town Fort Collins and The Harp  Shoppe in Loveland. Alaina’s students range from age 7-beginning adult. "The harp is an instrument that chooses the player!
