Athena Fritz

“I am excited to share my passion for music with you and help you improve technique, understand music theory, and explore your self expression through a beautiful and rich instrument, the viola.”
—Athena Fritz

Athena Fritz joined our music faculty in 2016. She teaches  beginning and intermediate viola and violin tudents at Magnolia Music Studio-RiverWalk in Richland, WA. (Youth, Teen, Adult). Athena has been playing viola for 16 years, after starting as a violinist. She studied music at Washington State University and Columbia Basin College, including orchestral, choral, winds, percussion, jazz and theory. She studied jazz piano with Steve Haberman. Athena currently performs with the Mid-Columbia Symphony, Quartet della'Talia and as a pit musician for local musical theater productions. Athena enjoys music of all types, and she also sings with Mid-Columbia Mastersingers. Being a 'jack of all trades' helps her to be a more balanced and fluent string player, who is not afraid to reach out and try new things.

Athena’s primary teaching instruments are viola and violin, however she also teaches a limited number of beginning/intermediate piano students.
