Rebekah Ooms

Rebekah Gray Ooms, soprano,  earned a Master of Music Degrees in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor of Music-Vocal Performance from Colorado State University, where she recently studied with Dr. Tiffany Blake. Rebekah performed as soprano soloist for major choral and orchestral works  and performed leading roles with CSU Opera Theater. Opera roles include Nanetta/Falstaff,  Susanna/Le nozze di Figaro,  Queen of the Night/Magic Flute, and Despina/Cosi fan tutte, which she performed in Italy with Opera Orvieto. Music theater roles include concert versions as Marian/The Music Man.

Rebekah was an Apprentice Artist with Opera Fort Collins, performing mainstage operas and educational outreach in elementary school in Northern Colorado. She looks forward to performing  regularly again with Opera Fort Collins, Loveland Opera Theatre, faculty and community concerts. Rebekah believes that  She loves teaching young singers, "who should be pushed to grow, but never beyond what they can accomplish in a healthy, age-appropriate way.” Rebekah is also a professional photographer, specializing in performer's headshots and concert posters. RebekahGrayPhotography  Rebekah and her husband, bass baritone Josh Ooms,  reside in Rebekah’s home town of Fort Collins. 

The most important aspect of teaching is finding the unique beauty in an individual’s singing and to communicate that beauty to the student, both as an encouragement to their confidence and as the foundation on which to build their unique voice.
